The opening session of the 3rd Chica Pelega Film Festival – quilombola edition took place online yesterday. In the programme we screened the film “Disque Quilombola”, by David Reeks, followed by a conversation with quilombola leaders and part of the Quilombola Curatorial Committee, responsible for choosing this edition’s programme. The event also marked the start of the festival’s online programme, available throughout the month of July on Pupilo Play. Sinclair Biazotti – Moderator
She is an educational pedagogue. She worked as a teacher in early childhood education, as an advisor in early childhood education, elementary school I, elementary school II and high school. Tutor in the Pedagogy course at UDESC, tutor in the training course for education professionals: Implementation of the Education Policy for Ethnic-Racial Relations in Santa Catarina, SED/NEAB/UDESC agreement, and cultural producer on several cultural projects.
Vanda Pinedo – Member of the Quilombola Curatorial Committee
Born in Pedro Osório/RS and a resident of SC since 1994, she is the mother of Odu Keomy Gomes Pinedo and a candomblé practitioner of the Angola Nation. A teacher, retired from the State Education Network, with a full teaching degree and a specialization in School Physical Education. She is currently a contracted teacher of the State Network in Quilombola Education – Youth and Adult Education mode. She is also a militant of the Unified Black Movement/SC, a member of the Forum of Religions of African Origin of Florianópolis and Region, a member of the State Council for Food and Nutritional Security, state secretary for the Fight Against Racism of PT/SC, a member of the Old Guard of Unidos da Coloninha, part of the Pastorinhas Musical Group and a member and vocalist of the Africatarina Bloco.
Lu Kilombola
Leader of the Aldeia community (Garopaba-Imbituba), State Coordinator of the Remaining Quilombo Communities of Santa Catarina – CECREQ/SC, militant of the Unified Black Movement – MNU/SC, graduate in Social Work from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), quilombola educator, mother of Lukeni and Mazulu, poet, columnist for the Correio da Praia newspaper.
