The opening of the 4th Chica Pelega Festival featured a performance by Congolese musician H14, on March 9 at 7 p.m., at the Euclides da Cunha Library.
Originally from Congo-Brazzaville, born in Mossendjo, H14 le Bizard began composing at the age of 10. A composer, singer and arranger, he has a self-titled album with 12 tracks in which he sings about the realities of life across the five continents — Africa, Asia, America, Europe and Oceania — composing in African languages such as Lingala and Kituba, as well as French and English.
Now in Brazil, the musician is dedicating himself to learning and composing in Portuguese as well, making his music increasingly accessible to Brazilian audiences.
H14 performed on several days of the Festival — from the opening to the Migration Festival.
