Our festival night in Monte Carlo, on 07/12, was full of learning, dialogue and connections. We especially thank Rosani Fernandes Paes, Edson Lopes Camargo, Alzira Prates (Grupo Cultural Renascença Cabocla), who enriched our debate, all of E.E.B. Erci Dick where the session took place, and the Secretary of Education of Monte Carlo, Alessandra Deon. Thank you for so much shared affection, Monte Carlo!
On the screen, the Monte Carlo audience watched the three shorts born from the “O minuto que foi” workshop, made by the quilombo residents themselves — A luta de um quilombola polinário, Nos batuques dos tambores: o sonho de muitos and Luta e resistência – Invernada dos negros —, alongside Sobreviventes de Taquaruçu, Invernada dos negros – fotografia e vídeo and Antonieta. The session took place on the evening of July 12, 2023, at E.E.B.M. Erci Dick, and ended in a discussion circle about memory, territory and quilombola resistance.
