Vanda Pinedo, who is part of the Quilombola Curatorial Committee of the 3rd Chica Pelega Film Festival – quilombola edition, appeared on the Rede Inclusão programme of the Santa Catarina State Legislative Assembly TV. She talked with host Michelle Todescatto about details of this edition of the Festival, which will take place soon in July 2023, and also about the quilombola communities of both western Santa Catarina and Brazil.

Born in Pedro Osório/RS and a resident of SC since 1994, she is the mother of Odu Keomy Gomes Pinedo and a candomblé practitioner of the Angola Nation. A teacher, retired from the State Education Network, with a full teaching degree and a specialization in School Physical Education. She is currently a contracted teacher of the State Network in Quilombola Education – Youth and Adult Education mode. She is also a militant of the Unified Black Movement/SC, a member of the Forum of Religions of African Origin of Florianópolis and Region, a member of the State Council for Food and Nutritional Security, state secretary for the Fight Against Racism of PT/SC, a member of the Old Guard of Unidos da Coloninha, part of the Pastorinhas Musical Group and a member and vocalist of the Africatarina Bloco.
