The 4th Chica Pelega Film Festival: Contemporary Migrations has come to an end, with more than 100 films from 22 countries and 13 Brazilian states, establishing itself as the largest edition and turning Videira, in Santa Catarina, into a great space of encounter and learning about cinema and the different cultures of the world represented on screen.
In all, there were 34 in-person sessions and three online, divided into six categories: Migrations Shorts; Migrations Features; Student; Childhoods on Screen; Catarinense and Contestado. After 10 days of in-person screenings and 30 days of online programming, the films were evaluated by a technical jury and also by the “Young Critics,” a jury made up of children and teenagers from schools, associations and social assistance departments of Videira, Rio das Antas, Monte Carlo and Tangará, who watched the in-person sessions of the Childhoods on Screen Showcase.
In a YouTube livestream last Friday (the 10th), Rudolfo Auffinger, the Festival’s organizer, announced the winners. This year, 11 films were awarded and 6 received honorable mentions. Check out the list of those chosen:
