“A Carta Histórica” is based on the short story written by Guilherme Pierdoná, a 2022 9th-grade student at the Jacinta Nunes Municipal School in Rio das Antas (SC). The story tells of a mysterious letter written during the Contestado War, narrating events from the arrival of the railway to the coming of a famous hermit herb healer. The entire film was produced by the students of that class through teacher Arthur Luiz Peixer’s project “Curtas Contestados.”
